Daevanion Items

Daevanion items were just introduced to the test server. These items can be obtained by completing the newly added missions, and like the Abyss and Draconic items, Daevanion items are a new category of items. Daevanion missions are received by all classes from both factions at the same levels. Note: the Daevanion items update are currently on the test server only. This update does not apply to live servers.

Daevanion Missions?

The Daevanion mission is automatically acquired at level 30

At level 30 and at 50, you will receive the Daevanion missions. The first mission will automatically be activate upon hitting level 30. After completing the mission, the character will receive armor usable by their class(armor piece can be chosen, but the type will be determined by the class of the character completing the quest) as a quest reward. These missions can only be completed once, and the level 30 armor rewards are of Legendary-Grade, whereas the level 50 armor rewards are of Unique-Grade.

It's a quest reward item but can be stored in your character account storage!

The most special feature about Daevanion items is that even though its a quest reward item(not soulbound but still untradeable), they can be banked in your character account storage. What this means is that if you have many characters on the same account, Daevanion armors can be shared by all your 'alt' characters.

Daevanion armors also have set bonuses. If the necessary amount of armor pieces of that set (plate, leather, chain, robe) are equipped, then bonus stats will be given. The actual bonuses will be explained further down.

By having up to 5 characters which include your main and alternate characters, you can obtain all 5 pieces of Daevanion for a complete set.

Keep in mind that the character completing the Daevanion mission can only receive armor that is designed for their class. However, Daevanion armors can be traded in for another types(plate, chain, leather, robe), so this system should not be too problematic. Trading Method - Say that you are trying complete a Daevanion Robe set, but because you have Gladiator alt, you now have the Daevanion plate boots. Then -> all you have to do is trade those plate boots in for robe boots. - The armor trading method is the same as the Coin Collecting method, where several steps will need to be verified(which current class the armor piece belongs to, which piece of armor, armor class you wish to exchange to) to complete the trade process.

Another different feature of the Daevanion items is difference in appearance compared to other types of armor. One of the first of the newly introduced Daevanion armor is the 'Sage's Robe', which can be acquired upon completing the Lv30 Daevanion mission. Although on first impression, it just looks like a colorful vanity item, the stats on it are far superior than other equal level items.

How the new 'Set Item Bonus' system works

Previous set items were only prefixed with the same name, and provided no added bonuses when several or all the pieces were equipped. The new Daevanion item sets have the abiltiy to give additional stat bonuses. Lets have a closer look at the Lv30 Daevanion quest reward, the "Sage's Set".

Tooltip explanation of the "Sage's Set" items ① This indicated that the item is of the 'Daevanion' grade. Daevanion is a separate category like the Abyss and Draconic items. Like regular Legendary-Grade item quest rewards, Daevanion items have 3 available slots for Magic Stone enhancements. ② If there is a set currently equipped, it will be indicated here by color types. The picture on the left shows that 3 out of 5 set pieces are equipped. ③ The bottom of the tooltip displays the different stat bonuses for equipping several of the set items. In this picture, 3 set pieces are equipped so the 3 piece bonus(3) has lit up.

The 5 Legendary-Grade Daevanion items above can be compared to other regular equal level Legendary-Grade items of the same type, and it can be seen that the stats on the Daevanion armors are never lower than the regular Legendary items. The extra bonuses gained from equipping multiple set items also make Daevanion items more preferable. The effects of the 2 Piece, 3 Piece, 4 Piece and 5 Piece bonuses all stack on top of each other, and when all 5 pieces are equipped, another boost called the 'Set Bonus' will appear on the very bottom of the tooltip. This 'Set Bonus' effect will not appear unless a full set(5 pieces) is equipped. The picture on the right displays the 'Set Bonus' of the "Sage's Set". From comparing the stat boosts from the Daevanion set to other Legendary-Grade sets of equal level, it can be seen that the Daevanion set is far superior.

Like the Lv30 Daevanion armor items, the Lv50 Daevanion armor sets can be obtained with multiple level 50 characters on the same account.

To acquire a set item, a quest item called 'Light of Daeva'(데바의 등불) will be needed. They cost about 1,200,000 Qina. Exchanging items will require a 'Bright Light of Daevanion'(데바니온의 환한 빛), which costs about 240,000 Qina.

The quest item, 'Daeva's Censer'(데바의 향로) costs about 12,000,000 Qina, and is required for the Lv50 Unique weapon quest which can only be obtained after completing a Lv50 Unique-Grade Daevanion armor set.

This is just a long term benefit for the casual player. If you want the full set you have to make five characters to level 30 and then level 50 to get one item per quest and then pass it over via your account bank, the items are soulbound to your account.

The set bonuses are nice, but not worth the time and anyone who actually does get this done will most likely be someone who likes to create all classes and plays the game for over a year. Its a loyalty reward at the end of the day. Even hardcore players get the set because they will be focused on their abyss rankings and not making four more toons to 50. Not everyone takes the alternate character option.

Hm.. are these quests super-duper hard ones or you just need to farm (buy) a lot of money, lvl the chars and that's it?
If so, it's probably the most idiotic (yeah, new and unique) idea I've ever heard in a p2p game... not to mention the fact those items are quite strong ones... OMG.

I believe its just money and max character per peice. Also you cant get the weapons until you have the fullset. Its sure as hell a longterm prospect .

Also, an other reason for goldfarmers and powerlevelers to exist in the game.
This new ""feature"" is like a message: "Hey, guys doing illegal things in our game, we welcome you in Aion, we've created things specially for your services, sure as hell more ppl from our playerbase will come and visit your services!".

I can't say I'm impressed.

And the 'More piece of set = more bonuses' thing should not be exist only on these armors, most of p2p games offer this quite enjoyable and fun feature as a regular, common highlvl thing, restricting it only to these laughable Daevanion sets is just stupid.

Seriously, the more patch they release the less I feel excited about the game.

I really like the game and im hyped for a leveling race. The game is still early days and im hopefully foremost that the Chanter class gets some love. I think the patches have added some good additions to the game and its in a better condition than aoc and warhammer were.

I cannot understand the individual stacking bonuses of each set, but they do seem very nice. I just don't see myself making 5 characters to level 50. I really hope they have a time equivalent armor set available to people that spend that much time (or nearly) to obtain them. Well, at least we can get a good weapon at 50 after getting one of these pieces of armor.

sweet. Thanks again for another good translation. Great to see this element added into the game. Its cool because it adds a on par armor set for people that maybe just enjoy playing the game and lvling up characters instead of farming and farming for pvp or pve sets. And it will be great too for people that do farm alot to have something to do and look forward to in their off time. I could see myself eventually getting this set after a long time in the game, like someone said earlier, a "loyalty reward".

Dont really see how this is gonna make RMT soooooo much worse. Is the quest really not something you go do? The quest is just a gold turn in? and If people want their account to have 5 characters powerlvled to 50 well 1) they wont be playing the game at all for awhile and 2) I really doubt theres that many people that would pay and waster enough time on having 5 toons lvled to 50. But who knows. Like I've always said, its mostly on us, the playerbase, to help fight RMT in our MMO.

I dont see how this would increase RMT. When you are high level the drops do help contribute to the increase scale of skillbooks, exp recovery etc. I sold a 39 white item for 200k, which pays for a skillbook on its own. Just need a little luck.

The longer you play the more money your going to generate so anyone who would make five character to x level I cant see them having any money issues. The set items are bind on soul to your account, so its not like you can buy your set from other players for a stupid price.
